Who are we and what makes us tick?

The Teamo Origin Story

Once upon a time two entrepreneurs with a business intelligence background worked with some of the most respected brands and organizations in the world. Their company, which specialized in performance measurement, was met with great success. One question that was continually raised from their clients was “how do we recognize our employees' successes?”.

Over time their clients asked them if they could deliver a solution that provide incentives that will continually encourage positive performance without breaking the bank or overwhelming their existing resources.

They worked directly with their existing clients, some who were already using rewards programs and some who hadn’t found anything that met their needs. The wanted to understand:

What worked?

What didn't?

What needed to be changed?

What needed to be added?

What would make the ultimate recognition program that truly delivered?

During this time, they saw how businesses supporting positive engagement grew to new heights and how lackluster organizations struggled to keep talent, innovate, and grow.

They also saw firsthand the direct impacts that employee culture has on an organization’s culture, turnover, growth, productivity, and untimely the company’s bottom line.

Based on their client’s feedback, an employee rewards program was born. Fast forward over a decade and a natural evolution of this program became known as Teamo!

Not to toot our own horns, but we really do know rewards.

We know that not everyone wants the same things. Your workforce is diverse, your rewards program should be too.

We know that some people take their time deciding what they want to redeem their points for. We know that hidden fees take from the joy of receiving and redeeming.

We know that rewards should feel, well, rewarding.

It doesn’t feel rewarding when your options are limited, or you’re rushed because points expire, or there are hidden fees and other surprises that use up your hard-earned points. That’s why we don't do any of these things.

Did you know that many rewards companies own their warehouse and resell inventory and they use their program as a means to sell off this inventory and gain greater profits? It’s a great business model from a business perspective, but it isn’t what we stand for. Holding inventory means your points redemption is limited to their catalogue of inventory. We don’t wholesale or resell. We believe your points should be redeemable for what you want. If we can redeem points for what you want, we will.

Essentially, many of these companies are E-Commerce companies that use your employees as their captive customer. It’s a great business model from their business perspective, but it isn’t what we stand for. Holding inventory means your points redemption is limited to their catalogue of inventory. We need to be clear, we are not an E-Commerce company, we are an employee incentive and recognition company that promotes your employee’s abilities to succeed. We don’t wholesale or resell. We believe your points should be redeemable for what you want and we will make every effort to make that happen.

Our points don’t expire so take your time, earn your points and save up for that special something that lets you know you are appreciated. Sometimes what you want isn’t listed in our line-up but good news, we support our people and help source special orders to make sure you get something you want. Seriously!

An employee from one of our clients called in to inquire about redeeming his points. He got to talking with our Teamo Account Manager about how he was landscaping his yard. He jokingly stated that what he would really appreciate it if he could redeem his points for landscaping soil. One thing led to another, and before he knew it he had a truckload of soil delivered to his front door!
